WoW Housing Revealed: Neighbourhoods & Plots Explained
One of the big reveals from Blizzard’s July 10th “WoW Housing: It’s Only Neighborly” post was our first proper look at neighbourhoods and the idea of player plots.
When housing goes live, players will be moving into two starter zones: Founder’s Point for the Alliance and Razorwind Shores for the Horde. Each neighbourhood has around 50 plots, spread out across different biomes so every home feels a little unique.
Plot Layouts & Biomes
Every plot comes with the same house size to keep things fair, but the environment around it changes depending on where you settle.
- In Founder’s Point, you’ll find cozy autumn farmland and eerie forest clearings.
- Over in Razorwind Shores, expect bright desert oases and windswept cliffs overlooking the ocean.
Blizzard’s been smart with spacing too — there’s enough room to decorate without your neighbor’s mailbox clipping through your garden wall. Some plots are tucked away for those who prefer peace and quiet, while others are grouped in little cul-de-sacs perfect for guildmates or friends who want to live side-by-side.
Central Hubs
Each neighborhood has its own hub — think of it as a lively town square. NPC vendors, social spaces, and future neighborhood activities will all be based here. Even though the housing plots themselves are instanced, these hubs keep the community aspect alive and give everyone a place to bump into each other.
Why Plots Matter
Plots are the backbone of the entire housing system. They define the size of your home, the style of your yard, and even the atmosphere you’ll live in. By keeping neighborhoods limited to around 50 plots, Blizzard’s trying to make sure they feel active and social instead of huge empty ghost towns.
Conclusion
If you’re planning your perfect WoW home, getting to grips with neighborhoods and plots is the first step. With two unique zones, varied biomes, and lively central hubs, housing is shaping up to be both personal and community-driven — a mix of your own little sanctuary and a shared world with your neighbors.
